The Anacronópete of Enrique Gaspar y Rimbau

Paléo-énergétique : L'Anacronópete de Enrique Gaspar y Rimbau

Published in Barcelona in 1887, The Anacronópete is the first sci-fi novel in which a time machine is invented. Powered by electricity, this machine contains strange technologies such as the “fluid Garcia”, which allows the traveler not to rejuvenate when they travel in the past.
In the first act, the protagonists begin their epics at the Paris World Fair. In the wake of Jules Verne’s works, this novel is part of a time when the scientific imagination is very prosperous and greatly influences contemporary inventors.
