Hydrogen converted truck (hydrogen produced with a water mill)

In 1945, Louis Hubault and G.Dubled modified a 1929 Saurer truck to power it with hydrogen. They produced the hydrogen with a water mill, a 35hp turbine, an electrolyzer, two generators, a distillation plant for highly purified water, two gasometers, one for oxygen, one for hydrogen, and a compressor for squeezing hydrogen at 350 atm into a stationary tank that could power the bottles of the truck at 200 atm. In 1950, with Mr. Maxence Feyter, professor at the Technical High School Narcet, they built a camshaft for driving the valves supplying hydrogen to the engine. In 6 years they traveled thousands of kilometers without any incident. The French certification administration “Mines” remained unaware of this initiative.
